Ruby practises exclusively in family law following her admission by the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia in May 2022.

Ruby Abbott-Monnox holds a Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of New South Wales and a Juris Doctor from the University of Technology in Sydney. Ruby also completed her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Technology in Sydney.

Ruby attended placements in Legal Aid New South Wales and Marrickville Legal Centre, growing her experience in Family Law. Ruby has had experience assisting members of the community with issues including:

• Parenting matters involving family violence, drug and alcohol abuse, mental health, and sexual abuse.
• Property Settlement including matters with complex business structures, self-managed super funds and valuation issues.
• Applications for Divorce including separation under the same roof and personal service issues.
• Child Support disputes and Binding Child Support Agreements.
• Spousal Maintenance.
• Litigation Guardianship.
• Financial Agreements including prior to, during and post marriage or de-facto relationship

Ruby regularly appears in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, representing clients throughout both parenting and property matters.

Ruby is passionate about helping others and ensuring clients feel appropriately supported as they move through the legal system. She prides herself in being approachable, ensuring that her clients are receiving the best possible representation for their matter, and are positioned to make informed decisions for their property settlement, and in their children’s best interests.

As a Solicitor at Armstrong Legal, Ruby is part of a team of Family Lawyers based in Sydney, offering services in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria.

Outside of work, Ruby is a huge trivia buff and attends trivia nights two or three nights a week. Ruby also enjoys ice-skating and is a Sydney Bears Ice Hockey supporter.
